WORKSHOPS
SMART Goals- Virtual Setting
While SMART goals are a common topic for professional development, they aren't often looked at from the lens of finances which is what made this workshop so effective. By starting off with gathering general information from students and linking it back to the financial goals, they were more willing to put in extra effort to plan out their future.
Professional Etiquette- Any Setting
With the removal of computer programs from secondary schools, college students are not being taught how to send professional correspondence. By breaking down what how communication can be good vs quality, students found they were taken more seriously as early professionals.
Addressing Biases- Virtual Setting
No matter what background you have or how much training you do, every single person has unconcious biases. It is how we address them within ourselves that make us more proactive in the workplace. This plan walks learners through uncovering them and how to deal with their biases.
Holey Buckets- Any Setting
College students are told that the more organizations/extracurriculars they are a part of the more it will help them stand out in the job market. However it can be difficult to narrow down on those few key areas. This activity will challenge students to look at all they participate in and understand where to pull back.
